I used six checks rather than treating the star rating as the answer:

1. A Google rating of 4.8 or above. This keeps the standard high without excluding an established artist because a handful of clients rated them four stars.
2. At least 10 Google reviews. Ten is still a modest sample, so the table keeps the count visible.
3. A named lead artist. This guide is about artist-led businesses, where you can inspect one person's work and request that artist for your event. An assistant or hair team is fine; an unnamed salon roster is not.
4. Recent, relevant work. The artist needed a current website or portfolio showing real bridal or occasion makeup.
5. A useful range of services. Bridal work alone was not enough. The public service menu or portfolio also needed to cover events such as engagement, reception, mehendi, cocktail, or party makeup.
6. A clear Chandigarh or Tricity booking route. Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, and Zirakpur all count because artists regularly travel between them for weddings.

The order follows Google review volume. It is not a ranking of skill. Portfolio fit, communication, hygiene, punctuality, and how the makeup feels after six hours matter more than a difference of 0.1 stars.

Tanvi KG is the most experienced artist in this group, with more than two decades in makeup and a portfolio that spans brides, celebrities, editorials, and destination weddings. Her current site separates bridal work from family and party makeup, cocktail and engagement looks, haldi and mehendi, mature-skin makeup, and editorial work. It also states that HD and airbrush are available.

That range makes Tanvi a sensible option for someone who wants an established artist and a more editorial eye. Her site says she takes one bride per slot, which is a useful detail to confirm for your date. Pricing is provided on enquiry, so send the event, venue, timing, and number of people when you ask for a quote.

3. Makeup by Sanjana Khurana

Google snapshot: 5.0 from 101 reviews

Sanjana Khurana is based in the Chandigarh–Mohali area and offers bridal, engagement, mehendi, reception, party, and family makeup. Current directory listings also mention hairstyling, draping, lashes, and travel to the venue. Her published descriptions and galleries put soft, skin-like makeup at the centre of her style.

Two current directories show different bridal starting prices—₹20,000 and ₹25,000—which is exactly why a fresh written quote matters. Ask what is included, whether the trial is chargeable or adjusted against the final booking, and whether hair accessories or travel are extra.

Preet Bagga is listed as a freelance hair and makeup artist working in Chandigarh since 2013. Her public service menu includes bridal, engagement, party, hairstyling, draping, and lashes, with travel to the venue and a paid trial. The focus on the complete look may appeal if you want help coordinating the makeup with hair, jewellery, and outfit styling.

A current directory lists bridal makeup at ₹25,000, while another listing shows a different figure. Use that as a starting point for a conversation, not a final price. Ask which artist will handle hair, what the paid trial covers, and whether the trial cost is adjusted against the booking.

How to choose from this list

Start with the finish you like. Save three full-face photographs from each artist, preferably on real clients with a skin tone and face shape close to yours. A beautiful close-up under a ring light does not tell you how the base will look outdoors, under banquet lights, or after the ceremony.

Then send the same brief to three artists:

• event date, start time, and venue
• your outfit and jewellery references
• the finish you prefer: natural, soft glam, traditional, or full glam
• skin concerns or sensitivities
• every person who needs hair or makeup
• whether you need the artist to travel

Ask for a written total that separates makeup, hair, draping, lashes, extensions, trial, early-morning fees, and travel. You will get a much cleaner comparison than asking only, “What is your bridal price?”

For bridal bookings, request a trial with the person who will work on you on the wedding day. Wear the trial for several hours and take phone photographs near a window, outdoors, and under warm indoor light. Comfort, colour match, and wear time are easier to judge that way than in a studio mirror.

A realistic Chandigarh range in 2026 is about ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 or more per function. Newer freelancers and salon packages usually sit at the lower end. Established artists, airbrush services, destination travel, assistants, and premium time slots push the total higher.
